After five years of teaching bonsai at Portland Nursery, the coronavirus changed our lives. How to go forward? The obvious solution is small outdoor classes— so I have developed a “classroom” under the canopy in the driveway of our urban bonsai oasis. We will cover the basics of taking a nursery plant and making a bonsai specimen, then give care details for its first year. Class fee is $10– includes a small tree and bonsai soil.
