An older specimen from a local landscape nursery, this Picea has revealed itself to me over time as a graceful and sturdy bonsai with remarkable longevity. Now about thirty years of age, it was first styled in 2015 when I acquired it in the original nursery container– at 30 gallons it was hard to lift, let alone transport. Since I don’t work on trees I can’t manage alone, I have trimmed it until it is now housed in this lovely Chinese drum pot.
