Japanese Maple Styling

Bonsai is inspiration for my landscape stylings.

I had a rare privilege yesterday to style a Japanese Maple, Acer palmatum “Tamukayama”, about forty years old. This is my second time working with this tree, and it is beginning to show the love. Lifting the canopy and revealing the underelying structure of the tree to show trunk and branching veiled by foliage, is an ongoing styling process.
