Camellia “Korean Fire”

I have fallen in love! This time with new varieties of Camellia japonica, a long flowering variety which features clear and vibrant colors. Familiar to some as the cultivar “Unryu,” japonica camellias have deep vase shaped cups of vivid colors–“Korean Fire” is the aptly named flame red cultivar in this new line of dwarf shrubs. This specimen has superb branching and well established lines, good well anchored trunk and the luminous glossy foliage of the cultivar. In time the leaves can be reduced in size to complement the petite profile of this tree.
