Heavy pruning for two older very overgrown fifteen foot tall rhododendrons on residential property. Height reduced by four feet, all deadwood removed to trunk line, thinning and shaping accomplished. Third pruning to rejuvenate these severely neglected seventy year led specimens. Next stage—To return and shape a large two storey tall Pieris japonica and another two rhododendrons on north face of home along neighbor’s driveway (homeowner to obtain permission to have neighbor move vehicle).
NB— Third rhododendron has progressed to almost no remaining foliage mass— recommend removal and replacement with a drought tolerant species such as Ceanothus, Manzanita, or similar, as there is no detectable summer irrigation at this front garden bed at this time.
