This twenty something lovely has been on my bench for six years, growing more stately as time goes on. New foliage is yet to emerge on some branches, but the flowers are at their peak so this photo shows the emerging growth. The characteristic orange of the species quince has outdone itself in this year’s abundant rainfall after some severe weather— conditions that produce exquisite growth in response to stress….
