Japanese Maple—“Shishigashira” — (“Lion’s Mane”)

Out of stock

Currently unavailable—

A mature urban yamadori specimen found in a local collector’s back corner looking neglected and wan, this tree has rebounded with vigor. About twenty years old, carved last year by master bonsai carver Will Baddeley on a Portland stop. Newly repotted in a shallow crescent by Maine potter David Crone (not pictured) Shishigashira is the “royalty of Acer palmatum bonsai”, with tiny foliage and tight internodes creating a full and luxuriant canopy.  Presently being held for further development— Not for sale at this time.
