The quintessential summer gold presence, Acer shirasawanum “Golden Full Moon” is a classic for the garden. These are hard trees to maintain as bonsai due to large leaf size and disposition to leaf burn in sunny circumstances. So we sacrifice the full gold foliage of high summer to keep her fresh and vibrant. But her spring growth is worth every effort— yielding soft rich yellow-green of a hue unmatched. Her she is presented in a vintage Bruning stoneware round, a bit deep to satisfy her strict need for personal space, and colored to accent her vivid foliage in every season. Fall color is magnificent. Now in her second decade, and aging like fine wine.
