Early Summer growth on Kamagata Maple bonsai
“Kamagata” has some of the most unusual leaf structure of any of the rare Japanese Maples. She has “eagle’s claws”– the leaves curl under at the tips, giving the impression of an eagle poised to land. Unbelievable spring hues of orange-pink turn a soft spring green, then fall birngs a new palette of orange-yellow foliage changes as cooler weather touches her. A ceramic bowl by Oregon artist Vickie Chamberlain completes the presentation. Fifteen to twenty years old. $500
