This month I will be travelling to Chicago for the Chicago Botanic Garden Art festival. Next Open garden will be Saturday and Sunday, July 27th and 28th– Feel free to stop by and say hello, have a glass of lemonade, stroll the garden and display area…!
August brings another new opportunity– I have been chosen as a vendor for Portland Buddhist Temple’s Obon festival.
I’ll be showing bonsai trees for sale at the temple on Saturday, August 3rd, as part of a day long set of festivities. Come and sample fine food, see the high quality art made by local artists, and enjoy dance performance and music.
Then a class in Kokedama is scheduled for August 10th. This popular class has filled up each time it is offered.
Next it’s back to Seattle for Fresh Paint Art Festival in Everett– view working artists demonstrating their techniques in an open air setting on the waterfront in beautiful downtown Everett, north of Seattle.
Finally, a late summer art festival at Bellevue Botanical Gardens in beautiful Bellevue, Washington. Seventy hand-selected artists are chosen each year to help with this fundraiser for the Botanic Garden’s programmes. My third year to show my unique and rare bonsai specimens in a tranquil open air setting in the most beautiful garden in Seattle.
Hope to see you at one of these events.
Watch for news of my next Open Studio, in late September, and the Bonsai Society of Portland’s “Jamboree” event in mid-September, right here in “river city.”
