Subtle differences define foliage of this classic forest.

Hinoki Cypress are keynote bonsai specimens, but in fact are not a true cypress species. A more accurate name is Japanese Cedar, but they are a form of “false” cypress, Chamaecyparis, to be exact. They have beautiful foliage which can occur in many variegations and shapes. Here are three which complement one another to form a mini forest. Planted in a classic unglazed Chinese black clay pottery container, they will remain forever “wedded” to one another in a simple forest design. $280
