The joy of spring for a bonsai artist!
“Kamagata” has some of the subtlest color changes of all the palmatum maples, as the leaves shimmer in the early spring light. This tree is about fifteen years old, and has been styled to give emphasis to the delicacy of the structure so the leaves can be seen in their distinct curled forms held above the branches, in the shape described as”eagle’s claw” by the Japanese name.
