Fern-leafed Japanese Maple is a new star of my show!

“Aconitifolium” is a relative newcomer, being a relative of “Viridis” and “Waterfall”, two of the weeping forms of Acer palmatum dissectum. Also known as “Peacock Maple” it has the most beautiful filigree leaves, shaped like small hands, with prominent veining and the freshest green spring growth imaginable. I am infatuated with this rare cultivar, and so grateful to live in the Pacific Northwest where so many of these trees are in the nurseries for all to enjoy.
